New Sainik Schools: The admission process for Sainik Schools is underway across the country. There's also good news for students, as three new Sainik Schools are opening in the country. According to an official government notice, Sri SPK Public Senior Secondary School, Tamil Nadu; Namakkal Residential Sainik School, Vadem Nagar Higher Secondary School, Goa; Vasco; and Yogeshwari Sainik School, Ambajogai, Maharashtra; Beed Day Boarding have been opened. The admission process is ongoing at these three schools as well.
So many Sainik Schools are currently operational
This includes 69 new Sainik Schools for Class 6 and 19 new Sainik Schools approved for Class 9. Students or their parents can apply for the entrance exam on the National Testing Agency (NTA)'s official website, nta.nic.in, until October 30 (5 pm). The entrance exam will be held in January 2026 in English medium for Class 9 and in 13 different mediums for Class 6.
Sainik School Admission Entrance Exam
The All India Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE) 2026 will be conducted in a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format using pen and paper (OMR sheets). For Class 6, the entrance exam will be conducted in 13 mediums, including Hindi and English, for 300 marks and will be conducted in 150 minutes. Language will consist of 25 questions carrying 50 marks each, Mathematics will consist of 50 questions carrying three marks each, and Intellectual Ability will consist of 25 questions carrying 50 marks each. The Class 9 entrance exam will be conducted in 180 minutes.
Application Fee
An examination fee of Rs. 850 will be paid for General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Military, and Ex-Servicemen, and Rs. 700 for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The results are expected to be released in February 2026.
