Guwahati: Assam government will exclusively handover the state’s share of the GST realised from the movie ‘Roi Roi Binale’ to the ‘   Kala Guru Artiste Foundation’ to aid foundation.   
   
Earlier this month, popular Assamese filmmaker Rajesh Bhuyan updated that the upcoming film Roi Roi Binale , a personal project of the late music legend Zubeen Garg, will be released nationwide on October 31.
     
Assam cabinet meeting in its meeting on Wednesday decided that Assam government will exclusively handover the state’s share of the GST realised from the movie ‘Roi Roi Binale’ to the ‘Kala Guru Artiste Foundation’ to aid foundation in its endeavour of medical treatment of the artistes, helping the flood victims and assist the needy students in their academic pursuits. “
     
Government of Assam realises no entertainment tax from Assamese Movies. Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi addressed the State Government to make Zubeen Garg's last film tax-free. This would be a tribute to the singer's contributions to Assamese culture and heritage.
   
In a letter to Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday (October 27, 2025), Gogoi wrote, "Roi Roi Binale is the final cinematic work of the late Garg. His untimely passing last month has left the people of Assam with a profound sense of loss. While the investigation into the tragic incident continues, citizens across the State continue to honour his memory and immense cultural contributions."
   
Garg died under mysterious circumstances in Singapore on September 19. There are protests and demands seeking justice for Garg.
