The first two weeks of September are going to be a treat for every movie lover. From intense crime thrillers to big-banner action movies and quirky comedies, several highly anticipated titles across Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu are landing on major OTT platforms. Whether you're into suspenseful investigations, star-studded action dramas, or regionally rich storytelling, there's something new for everyone this week. Let's take a look:
Kammattam (Malayalam) - ZEE5 - September 5
Leading this week’s digital premieres is Kammattam, a gripping Malayalam web series debuting on ZEE5 on September 5. The story follows Inspector Antonio George, who begins investigating the death of a man named Samuel Umman. What initially appears to be a routine case soon spirals into something far more sinister. His inquiry leads him to Samuel’s employee, Francis, and uncovers a chilling chain of events. The show features Sudev Nair, Jeo Baby, and Vivya Santh in key roles.
Ekka (Kannada) - ZEE5 - September 5
After much speculation and multiple rumoured OTT dates, Yuva Rajkumar’s Ekka is now reportedly heading to ZEE5. Though the official streaming date hasn't been announced, the OTTplay report suggests a release around September 5. Directed by Rohit Padaki, Ekka marks Yuva's strong entry into Kannada cinema and explores action and drama in a stylised format.
Su From So (Kannada) - JioHotstar - September 5
Another much-awaited Kannada superhit film is Raj B Shetty’s produced latest comedy Su From So, which is currently the highest-grossing Kannada movie of 2025. The film, starring Shaneel Gautham, Mime Ramadas, and Prakash Thuminad, is expected to drop on JioHotstar on September 5. While Raj B Shetty denied initial reports linking the film to Hotstar, multiple sources confirm the digital rights are secured by the platform.
Junior (Kannada-Telugu) - Amazon Prime Video
Kireeti Reddy’s debut bilingual film Junior is also eyeing an early September OTT release. Directed by Radhakrishna Reddy, and co-starring Sreeleela, Genelia Deshmukh, and V Ravichandran, the movie had a lukewarm response in its Kannada version but performed better in Telugu markets. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital rights, and the film is reportedly expected to begin streaming around September 5, according to OTTplay.
Coolie (Tamil) - Amazon Prime Video
Coolie is one of the biggest OTT releases of the month. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film is headlined by Rajinikanth. Despite a massive pre-release buzz, the film received mixed reviews in theatres, with criticism directed at its writing. Still, it remains one of the most talked-about releases of 2025. Featuring Nagarjuna and Soubin Shahir in villainous roles, along with Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj, Coolie is expected to arrive on Amazon Prime Video by September 11, across all major languages along with subtitles.
