Tata Power's subsidiary has partnered with VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India, with a focus on the recently launched Eicher Pro X range of Small Commercial Vehicle.
Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited, a second-tier subsidiary of Tata Power Company Limited, has collaborated with VECV on multiple fronts to support truck and bus operators looking to introduce electric vehicles in their operations.
Under the MoU, Tata Power will leverage its extensive EV charging infrastructure and expertise in providing customized charging solutions, while VECV will optimize energy usage in electric trucks, ensuring that the vehicles meet the specific needs of end-users and their applications.
"Together, they will actively engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to promote the transition to electric mobility, enabling a cleaner, more sustainable future for India’s transport sector," the company mentioned in a regulatory filing. The partnership will focus on "developing and implementing innovative solutions to address specific challenges such as range anxiety, charging infrastructure availability, and related cost."

A leading manufacturer with a broad range of electric trucks & buses, VE Commercial Vehicles is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited.
This partnership will focus on addressing critical factors that influence the adoption of electric trucks and buses to represent "a transformative step towards modernizing India’s commercial mobility landscape."
Under the brand name of EZ Charge, Tata Power has expanded its EV Charging network to over 1.5 lakh+ home chargers, 5,500+ public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, along with 1,200+ E-bus charging points across 630+ cities and towns.
Shares of Tata Power were trading at Rs 360 per script around 11:20 on Monday after a 0.56% hike.
