Navi Mumbai: The district-level central office of Maharashtra Government's AMRUT (Maharashtra Research, Upliftment and Training), a state-run institution dedicated to the holistic development of economically weaker sections from the open category, will soon be established at the Raigad Collectorate Building in Alibag, according to Shailesh Marathe, District Manager of AMRUT for Raigad.
Senior Officials Discuss Launch Strategy
During a recent visit to Raigad, Shriram Bende, Special Executive Officer (OSD) of AMRUT, met with District Collector Kishan Jawale, Resident Deputy Collector Sandesh Shirke, and Revenue Tehsildar Chandrasen Pawar to discuss plans for launching AMRUT's district office in Alibag and the organization’s ongoing initiatives.
Collaborative Approach for Implementation
Bende also held discussions with MCED Project Officer Anand Vidyagar, District Industries Centre General Manager G.S. Haralya, and District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Vandana Shinde to explore collaboration for implementing AMRUT’s various schemes. Additionally, he met Information Officer Manisha Pingle and sought cooperation in publicizing and promoting AMRUT’s initiatives.
AMRUT offers assistance to economically backward individuals from the open category through multiple schemes, including vocational training, competitive exam coaching, government scheme guidance, and entrepreneurship support.
Beneficiaries also receive help in launching businesses, skill development, and employment opportunities. Special programs for women’s empowerment are also a key focus.
Focus on Skill Development and Women Empowerment
The organization runs various initiatives such as computer, typing, and shorthand training, foundation programs for competitive exams, advanced IT training (C-DAC), and self-learning support schemes.
In collaboration with MCED, AMRUT also offers training in solar panel repair and maintenance, AMRUT Bakery, import-export training, self-employment programs, and guidance under schemes like PMEGP/CMEGP.
