The accused chopped the victim's body into six pieces and dumped them into six different locations to avoid getting caught, reported News18, quoting officials.
The body parts were also reportedly thrown along a riverbank. The accused have been identified as Maya Devi and her lover, Anil Yadav. As per the report, Devi filed a missing person report on May 10. In the complaint, she stated that Kumar did not return after he had gone to Buxar railway station in Bihar to pick up their daughter.
A probe was launched. Notably, during an investigation, the police confirmed that the torso found was that of Kumar. Devi, Yadav and two other men were taken into custody for questioning.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed that they dumped Kumar's head into the Ghaghara River.
Notably, Yadav and one other accused were arrested during an encounter, reported News18. Yadav was also shot in the leg. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
