Supreme Court Stays Revised CLAT UG 2025 Result, Halting Delhi High Court's Order

The revised result for the CLAT UG 2025 exam will not be released as scheduled. The Supreme Court has put a temporary hold on the Delhi High Court's order, effectively preventing the release of the revised merit list. The interim stay was granted by a bench of Justices BR Gavai and AG Masih on April 30 during the hearing of a special leave petition filed against the High Court's decision.

The Delhi High Court had earlier directed the Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) to release a revised merit list due to errors found in four questions from sets B, C, and D of the exam paper. The Court had also instructed the CNLU to adjust the results accordingly, giving candidates who attempted those sets the benefit of additional marks. However, the High Court did not extend this benefit to candidates who solved set A, as it found no errors in that particular set.

The candidate who filed the petition in the Supreme Court, securing the all-India 22nd rank with set A, argued that the decision unfairly disadvantaged those who had attempted set A. He contended that the revision should apply equally to all candidates, regardless of the set they received.

The CLAT UG 2025 exam was held on December 1, 2024. A petition challenging errors in the exam was filed in the Delhi High Court, which ruled in favor of revising the results for some candidates. However, with the Supreme Court’s stay, the revised results are now on hold pending further hearings.
