Debenhams shoppers have been raving about a "bargain" box that's saving space and "looking lovely" on dressing tables. People might consider them as a thoughtful and practical Christmas gift this year, as many have done in previous years.
The Living and Home Cosmetic Organiser Skincare Display Box is normally sold for £69.99, but has been cut down to what shoppers are calling a "bargain" price of £15.99. The Debenhams website confirms that this case is designed with a cabinet and two drawers, making the box ideal for storing bottles, brushes and more that "can fit in perfectly."
The emerald green case with golden accents is made from thickened plastic and acrylic, leading to claims that the sturdy box is "scratch-resistant" and able to keep all your beauty essentials "well-protected." It makes the bold claim that "70% of your tabletop space can be saved" when your makeup gets neatly arranged and stored away in the dedicated compartments.
Beyond its main purpose of storage, Debenhams also adds that this makeup box will also stand out as a "modern decorative piece" on any dressing table. There are lots of similar options in other stores that won't break the bank.
For example, The Range is selling a very similar version - swapping the deep green design for white - with The Dustproof Makeup Organiser with Drawers, which is currently on offer (down from £18.99 to £15.19). And, Amazon has lots of choice, including this Multi-Function Make Up Case that comes in five different colour options for £21.99.
But, hundreds of people had great things to say about the Debenhams box. One said: "So good! Love the height of the cover, it comfortably fits all my skincare."
Another wrote: "This is a lovely way to store cosmetics, as it takes tall bottles in the top level, and has two drawers for extra storage. It is attractive, and easy to use, as well as it is stable."
A third person put: "I love this, the colour goes perfectly with my decor. The handle is handy for carrying the box around. It's perfect for keeping essentials in one place." And, another said: "Fantastic for the bargain price. Looks lovely on my dressing table.
However, some had a few issues. One claimed: "Although considerably reduced, this item was still not worth the money. Cheap and nasty!"
Another put: "Very flimsy, not what I expected. Looked good in pictures, good styling, but poor quality. Drawers especially." A third put: "Very poor quality, plastic and brittle feeling.i wouldn't expect Debenhams to sell such poor items."
But, despite these complaints, some were planning for the upcoming festive season when buying these last Christmas. Someone said: "Bought several of these to fill up for Christmas gifts." And, another put: "Such a good bargain I bought three as Christmas gifts." One more wrote: "They will make good Christmas presents. Very useful! Good quality."
