Ozark star Tom Pelphrey is teaming up with Marvel icon Mark Ruffalo in the latest prestige crime drama arriving this year on Sky and HBO Max.
Premiering in just under a month’s time, Task is created by the Emmy-nominated creator of Mare of Easttown, Brad Ingelsby.
A riveting trailer setting up the drama’s intriguing premise was released today (Tuesday, 12th August), set to Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here.
The first footage of the gripping FBI investigation into a series of home invasions against the backdrop of a turf war and emotional family drama has received an overwhelmingly positive response from drama fans so far.
A synopsis for the series reads: “Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent (Ruffalo) heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Pelphrey).”

Audiences are paying particular attention to Ozark breakout Pelphrey, who received acclaim and an Emmy nomination for his role as Ben Davis in the hit Netflix crime drama.
One YouTube user commented under the trailer: “This dude was legitimately so good in Ozark. I'm glad he's getting work.”
Another agreed: “Looking forward to seeing this due to Tom. He was so so SO good in Ozark.”
Discussion continued over on Reddit, where one user wrote: “I'm glad they seem to be advertising Tom Pelphrey as much as Ruffalo here.
“Pelphrey hasn't always picked the best projects, but I have never seen him turn in a bad performance.”

To which someone else wrote: “Pelphrey was outstandingly terrific in Ozark. And Banshee. Man never disappoints.”
And a final user said: “Mare of Easttown was one of the best Drama/Thriller shows ever. This looks even better, can't wait!”
Alongside the two stellar leads, Task’s all-star cast also includes Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox, and Martha Plimpton.
Thankfully, fans don’t need to wait too long as the series is set to release in early September, with the UK premiere arriving just hours after the first episode drops on HBO.
Task premieres Monday, 8th September on Sky Go and NOW.
