Ruben Amorim drops Man Utd bombshell as he casts doubt on his future at club

Ruben Amorim has confessed that 's growing struggles are his fault - and he could consider handing over the reigns if he cannot change the team's direction of travel.

Amorim added: "I feel how a manager of Manchester United is supposed to feel in that position - embarrassed. It’s hard to accept. We need to be more aggressive, and we need to feel that it is the end of the when we are not winning a game. Especially when we are not winning.

"So it's a big problem that we have here at the club. It's a decisive moment in the history of the club. We need to address that. It's a big problem because it's mentally. We are not scared of losing a game as Manchester United. We don't have that fear anymore and that is the most dangerous thing that a big club can have."

Amorim has not been shy in speaking his mind since being appointed in Manchester. After a defeat several months ago he admitted that he was leading "maybe the worst Manchester United team in history" such was their poor run of form.

The Portuguese coach, who was highly-rated before coming to the Premier League, had requested to join at the end of the season, but was told he had to arrive mid-season or miss out on the job all together.

Amorim’s side went into Sunday’s game buoyed by securing their place in the make-or-break Bilbao showpiece against with Thursday’s 4-1 victory against Athletic Bilbao, completing an impressive 7-1 semi-final triumph.
