The Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Government of Bihar, has been awarded the Excellence in Technology-Driven Education Award by Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay. The award was presented during the Open Source GIS Day and National Geospatial Awards 2025 at the Victor Menezes Convention Center, IIT Bombay.
The award recognises the department’s transformative efforts in enhancing the employability and technical skills of engineering and polytechnic students in Bihar. Through strategic use of digital platforms and educational technology, the department has enabled thousands of students to access quality learning resources.

The award was presented by Padma Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairman of ISRO, underscoring the national significance of Bihar’s educational advancements.
Dr. Md. Atiqur Rahman, Assistant Director (Technology), received the award on behalf of the department and reiterated its commitment to empowering students through tech-enabled education.
This recognition cements Bihar’s position as an emerging leader in digitally inclusive and future-ready technical education.
