Bangladesh News: Although Hindus have been facing atrocities since the partition, be it in East Pakistan or the later formed Bangladesh, but in recent months the situation has worsened a lot. Hindus are feeling unsafe. Their families and properties are under threat from fundamentalists. Now they are being prevented from even worshipping.
The condition of minority Hindus in Bangladesh is very bad. They are not even able to worship properly. A video of the actions of fundamentalists in Bangladesh is viral on social media. To stop Hindus from worshipping, these fundamentalists committed a great sin. They took a saw and cut down a banyan tree which is said to be 200 years old.
People of the Hindu community used to sit under this tree and perform puja or rituals. In the viral video, it can be seen that two people are sawing the branches of the tree and a crowd of people is gathered around it. The fundamentalists of Bangladesh wanted that the people of the Hindu community should not be able to worship here.
Hindus consider the banyan tree to be very sacred. It is also called Vat Vriksha, Aks
hayvat. It is believed that Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shankar reside in this tree.
At present, the population of Hindus in Bangladesh has decreased to less than 8 percent. According to a report, due to conversion and atrocities in the neighboring Muslim-dominated Bangladesh, the number of Hindus has now come down to around 1.25 crore. The world is once again seeing the thinking of the fundamentalists. The result of their hatred is that a 200-year-old banyan tree was cut down.
In fact, ever since the Sheikh Hasina government collapsed in Bangladesh and Mohammad Yunus was given the responsibility of running the government, anti-India and especially anti-Hindus people have become dominant there. A few months ago, blood of Hindus was shed there.
