Donald Trump: Trump, who gave himself credit for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, has again backtracked. He said that last week things were getting very dangerous between India and Pakistan.
India Pakistan Ceasefire: US President Donald Trump, who made claims about ceasefire between India and Pakistan, has clarified his statement. Trump said that hostility between India and Pakistan was increasing, so we have only helped in solving the problem. Trump said, "I am not saying that I did mediation. I helped in solving the problem."
'Things had become dangerous between India and Pakistan'
However, Trump remained firm on his statement on trade. He again said that the matter was resolved only when I talked about trade. Trump said, "Last week things were getting very dangerous between India and Pakistan. Both the countries suddenly started firing missiles and we settled everything."
Trump said, "India and Pakistan have been fighting for years. I thought I could bring about a compromise and I did. How long can you keep fighting? I was not sure that the two would reach a compromise. It was very difficult. It was really going to get out of control."
Trump gave himself credit for the ceasefire
A ceasefire was declared between India and Pakistan on May 10. US President Donald Trump took the credit for this. He posted on Truth Social and said, "Happy to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed on an immediate ceasefire. Both countries have shown intelligence." This claim of Trump was rejected by the Indian government.
India rejected Trump's claim
The Indian government had also clarified that the issue of trade was not raised during any discussion with the US during the tension with Pakistan. After this, on May 11, Trump had said, "I am very proud of the strong leadership of India and Pakistan, who showed strength, wisdom and courage and decided that now is the time to stop the current tension. This tension could have led to the death and destruction of millions of people."
