Warning - spoilers ahead!
's Kit Green has been on the cobbles for a year - but now viewers are about to discover a side to him they never knew existed. Upcoming episodes will expose a dark secret he is hiding from his past, and how it's still controlling his life - and his ability to do his job - decades later.
Jacob, who describes his character as a "snake" and a "lone wolf" explained the hidden connection he has with newcomers to the cobbles Mick and Lou Michaelis (played by Joe Layton and Farrel Hegarty). When Gary Windass (Mikey North) finds his young son Liam has been locked into the tool shed by Mick, he'll explode with fury and give him an uncompromising taste of his own medicine, leading him to Mick punching him to the ground. Kit sees the violent attack to Gary - but at the police station, he denies all knowledge of it - why is he covering for and protecting a violent thug?

Seething Gary is open-mouthed when Kit threatens that if he doesn't keep quiet, he'll be arrested for false imprisonment, while smug Mick makes it clear he's confident that he's untouchable - but why?
The truth will emerge in a special flashback episode to air next week, when viewers see a younger version of Kit egging on Mick to push fireworks through a letterbox as retaliation for being called "scum" after thieving cans of cider.
Kit then runs off, leaving Mick to be caught red-handed - and unbeknown to them, a shopkeeper is still inside the store, leading to her suffering third-degree burns and Mick ending up in jail.
In later life, desperate to make amends for his earlier crimes, Kit becomes a police officer - but fast forward to 2025 and the awkward reunion with Mick, and he's left feeling "unsettled" and "scared".
"It is a past that [no-one knows about] and he doesn't want to bring up again... he knows Mick's going to blackmail him," Jacob explained.
"Mick, Lou, and Kit all knew each other as teenagers and obviously are now on both very different sides of the law - the Michaelis's family are very much sailing close to the wind with the law, and obviously Kit has taken the other side."
However, it's going to become increasingly hard for Kit to maintain his morals, as the fear of Mick blackmailing him looms large - what will he be prepared to do to keep the shameful secret under wraps?
A panicked Kit confesses all to Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove), the mum who gave him up when he was a baby - and as it also emerges that he may have a secret lovechild with Lou behind Mick's back, will his decision to be an absent father make him more sympathetic to Bernie for giving him away?
Viewers should stay tuned to find out more, with further spoilers to be revealed soon.
