Lamine Yamal and Denzel Dumfries were the stars of the show as Barcelona and Inter Milan battled to a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys. Dumfries set up Marcus Thuram for an impressive finish just 30 seconds into the game - the quickest goal in a Champions League semi-final - before the Dutchman spectacularly doubled the Serie A champions' lead.
Yamal brought the LaLiga leaders back into contention with a potential goal of the season on his 100th appearance for Barcelona, and Ferran Torres equalised from close range to conclude a captivating first half. Dumfries put Inter back in front shortly after the hour mark, but they were swiftly pegged back when Raphinha's long-range shot ricocheted off the post and hit Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer before going in.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan had a goal ruled out for offside while Yamal hit the crossbar at the other end, leaving everything to play for in next Tuesday's second leg at the San Siro. The frenetic first half began with Inter taking the lead almost immediately from kick-off, with Thuram capitalising on Inigo Martinez's slip to audaciously backheel the ball into the net on the half-volley.
Torres, standing in for the injured Robert Lewandowski, fired wide as Barcelona attempted to regroup, but Dumfries, who provided the assist for Thuram's stunning opener, scored a sensational goal of his own.
Federico Dimarco's corner was met by Francesco Acerbi, whose header was spectacularly bicycle-kicked into the net by Dumfries in the 21st minute, leaving the home side stunned.
Barcelona, fresh from a gruelling extra-time victory over Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, needed a spark of brilliance and it came just three minutes later from Yamal. The young star shrugged off Thuram on the right wing, danced past Mkhitaryan into the box, and curled a left-footed shot off the post for the third stunning goal of the match - arguably the pick of the bunch.
Yamal nearly added a second with another dazzling run, but his shot from near the byline was tipped onto the bar by Sommer.
However, Barcelona equalised in the 38th minute when Pedri's cross found Raphinha at the back post, who nodded the ball into the path of the charging Torres to tap home.
Lautaro Martinez was forced off at half-time due to injury, but Inter regained the lead as Dumfries scored his second of the match in the 63rd minute.
The goal was straightforward, with Hakan Calhanoglu's corner to the back post just eluding Yann Aurel Bisseck, allowing Dumfries to rise above Dani Olmo and head home, with Olmo getting the final touch.
However, Inter's lead was short-lived, lasting just under two minutes before a corner kick found its way to Raphinha. His powerful 25-yard strike hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced in off the unfortunate Sommer.
Barcelona's defence was once again exposed as Mkhitaryan managed to bundle the ball into the net, but the Armenian was ruled offside by the slimmest of margins. Yamal's chip shot hit the bar and Sommer managed to tip another fierce strike from Raphinha over the bar, resulting in the match ending in a draw.
