have revamped their forward line with Matheus Cunha and they are not done there, which spells bad news for . The Dane is set to be frozen out once Ruben Amorim completes his attacking overhaul after a season in which the Red Devils were toothless in front of goal.

Hojlund scored only four times in the , and his United career has failed to get out of second gear since completing a switch from Atalanta two years ago. With a move to on the cards, it could be a return to that revives the 22-year-old.

According to , Hojlund's profile as an Inter transfer target is 'advancing', partly due to the healthy relationship his agents have struck up with the Nerazzurri.

Hojlund is said to be 'unhappy' in Manchester and he 'intends' to secure himself a change of scenery this summer. But United may have to take a hefty financial hit to get the deal done, as Inter are holding out for a bargain price.

The Serie A giants are eager to make a splash in the transfer market after being thrashed in the Champions League final by Paris Saint-Germain. Alongside Hojlund, Parma youngster Ange-Yoan Bonny has cemented himself as a concrete target.

United have already taken steps to replace Hojlund this summer. Cunha, whose £62.5m arrival from Wolves was confirmed on Sunday, can play in a variety of attacking positions, including as an orthodox centre-forward.

The Red Devils were hot on the heels of Liam Delap before he gave the green light to Chelsea, and they have also held talks with Brentford goal machine Bryan Mbeumo. It became clear that major surgery was needed at the top end of the pitch long before United limped to a 15th-place Premier League finish, scoring just 44 goals in their 38 games.

And Hojlund may not be the only high-profile player to move on to pastures new. United could look to cut their losses on Joshua Zirkzee, whose goalscoring return has been disappointing since his move from Bologna last summer.

Alejandro Garnacho has been told he can leave Old Trafford by Amorim, and he could be followed out of the exit door by captain Bruno Fernandes, who has been engaged in discussions with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal over a lucrative summer switch.
