A woman says she threatened to call the police on her neighbour after claiming their dog kept running around and pooing in their garden. The Redditor, who appears to be based in the US, took to the subreddit "Am I the A**hole" to explain the situation, and ask its 24million followers if she was in the wrong.
The woman, who moved into her house in January 2021 with her family, explained that their side of the street "shares the back yard with a church and no one has a fenced in yard". While they were moving in they noticed a dog on their porch and were keen to make sure it got home safely due to the cold wintery conditions.
The woman said the pooch turned out to belong to their neighbours, who "live on the corner so the back of their house faces the side of ours".

"As the weather broke we started to meet other neighbours and found that the corner house goes down south for winter and come back around Memorial Day," she wrote.
"After that we did start seeing the dog again," she said, claiming the pet was "in our yard and unsupervised a lot".
"I asked her to keep the dog in their yard or at least supervise it so they could clean up after it when it would poo in our yard," she claimed.
The Reddit user explained that she was pregnant with her first baby at the time, and "didn't want to worry about watching out for dog poo".
After her and her partner got married and had their child, they decided to throw a BBQ to celebrate their nuptials, the new arrival, and their new home, she said.
The woman says her brother came to stay with his family on the weekend of the party, and claims the dog came over to beg for food when they were eating dinner on the porch the night before the bash.
She claims she shooed the dog away, but the dog came to beg again on the morning of their party, and their neighbour was out at the time.
The woman claims she "asked her again to please keep the dog on a lead or supervised", but her neighbour's response was to comment on the state of their lawn, telling them to use weed killer.
"The next day the dog was in our yard again and this time I told her (after checking city laws to make sure it was clearly written) that I would be calling the police and animal control next time the dog was in our yard," the woman said.
She alleges that the following day she was in her driveway when the neighbour's "adult daughter came up to me and said 'hey C***, you better not threaten my elderly parents ever again or you'll have me to answer to'".
"After that we had a fence installed on just the property line on their side of our yard," the woman continued. She said when her neighbours noticed utility lines being marked, "one of them came over during Halloween to say 'we got off on the wrong foot' but no apology for how they treated us".
The woman said she feels for the dog, claiming "it's whole life it seems it was able to run free", and it may be missing a dog that used to live at the house before they moved in.
She also reflected that calling the police might have been a step too far.
Reddit users backed the unnamed woman, with one commenting that they "adore dogs, but I don't want to go outside to see some random dog wandering around".
A second added: "I get pretty irritated about my neighbor letting her dog into our yard space, even though I like the dog but I haven't said anything about it because they are great neighbors otherwise."
A third also said she wasn't in the wrong, adding: "It is their job to keep their dog on their property."
