Next James Bond odds: Rising star is 'clear favourite' to replace Daniel Craig as 007

Earlier this summer, Denis Villeneuve was announced as the director of the next James Bond movie.

The French-Canadian filmmaker is currently shooting Dune Part 3, so presumably, a new 007 actor will not be announced until the autumn.

Spider-Man's Tom Holland, John Lennon star Harris Dickinson, and Elvis actor Jacob Elordi are among those being rumoured to be under serious consideration.

However, 28 Years Later's Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains the bookies' favourite at 2-1.

The 35-year-old is "the clear favourite" according to Betway, although such odds should be taken with a grain of salt.

Taylor-Johnson has played it very coy when asked about Bond rumours in recent years, following reports he impressed former producer Barbara Broccoli. Also running in the bookies' race are the following: Theo James at 5/1, Harris Dickinson at 5/1, Aaron Pierre at 6/1, Callum Turner at 6/1, Jack Lowden at 10/1, Henry Cavill at 10/1, James Norton at 12/1, Josh O'Connor at 20/1, Idris Elba at 33/1, Tom Hardy at 33/1.
