Prince William has revealed that he will allow Prince George to have a mobile phone when he starts secondary school next year. The 12-year-old is currently studying at Lambrook School in Berkshire, with his two younger siblings - Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - also students at the school.
George will be moving to a different school next September as Lambrook School is only for children aged between three and 13 - with the young royal set to begin his teenage years next July.
Speaking during an inteview with Brazilian television host Luciano Huck from the Domingão show, William revealed that George, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7, do not have mobile phones yet.
Discussing that he is cautious about technology, he said: "It is really hard. Our children don't have phones."
Revealing that he will allow George to have a mobile phone, he shared that it will likely be allowed when he reaches secondary school next year - but only with "limited access".
William, 43, said: "When George moves onto secondary school, maybe he'll have one with limited access. We talk to him and explain why we don't think it's right."
Speaking of the pros and cons of having a mobile phone, he added: "With full access, children end up seeing things on the internet that they shouldn't. But with restricted access, I think it's good for messaging."
William recently revealed that he is "very strict" on the issue of his children having phones, whilst Princess Kate also recently published a personal essay about how screens are ruining real-life relationships.
The royal has recently returned from a successful five-day trip to Brazil, with the annual Earthshot Prize the main reason for the trip.
During the annual award ceremony, William was joined by a host of stars including singers Kylie Minogue and Shawn Mendes.
