Cameron Norrie shocked the Paris Masters as he defeated world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in the Spanish star's first match of the tournament. The Brit came from a set down to win 4-6 6-3 6-4 in a gutsy display in front of a bumper 16,000 capacity crowd on Centre Court.
Attention swiftly turns to Jannik Sinner, who beat Zizou Bergs to reach the last 16. Meanwhile, Norrie will face Shanghai Masters champion Valentin Vacherot. The Monegasque star came from a set down to beat his own cousin, Arthur Rinderknech, in a rematch of the Shanghai final.
The tournament suffered a blow when former finalist Grigor Dimitrov pulled out hours before his second-round match. The 34-year-old returned from a four-month injury layoff to beat Giovanni Mpethsi Perricard in round one, but later said that he knew it was "the right time to stop".
And there was drama when Alexander Bublik and Corentin Moutet met in the night session, as Bublik won 6-3 7-5 and then wrote a brutal message on the camera lens to "punish" his French opponent.
