Battlefield 6 Season 1 patch notes

Accoring to EA's official patch notes, these are the major changes coming to BF6 as part of the Season 1 update:

  • Improved core movement and animations, including smoother landings, faster stance transitions, better vaulting behavior, and reduced "bouncing" issues on landing or spawning
  • Reworked weapon dispersion to better align accuracy and handling with each weapon's intended design and performance over range
  • Significant visibility and lighting improvements, with better exposure transitions, interior lighting, and reduced fog and smoke persistence
  • Audio overhaul, adding new projectile flybys, destruction and explosion sounds, refined vehicle and weapon mixes, and improved haptic feedback across multiple interactions
  • UI and HUD updates for clarity and consistency, including overtime indicators, end-of-round fixes, and new unlock markers for weapons and gadgets
  • Map fixes across multiple locations, resolving spawn animations, out-of-bounds issues, misaligned assets, and general stability across Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush modes
New maps, vehicles and weapons coming to Battlefield 6

Season 1 adds a total of six new weapons, including one brutal addition to melee, on top of two maps and a new vehicle spread across three different stages.

First up with October's Rogue Ops will be the SOR-300SC carbine, the GGH-22 sidearm, the Mini Scout sniper rifle, as well as Rail Cover & LPVO attachments, and the APC Traverser Mark 2 land vehicle.

Blackwell Fields will be the new addition to the map pool. It is set in the California badlands and supports full-scale land and air vehicles.

November's California Resistance sees battle pickups - special weapons dotted throughout the map - added alongside the DB-12 shotgun, the M357 Trait sidearm and the TROY Angled attachment.

Eastwood, a large map set in a California suburb that supports land and air vehicles, will also be arriving as part of this section.

Last but not least, in December's Winter Offensive, is the Ice Climbing Axe melee weapon, and a festive reskin of the Empire State map.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 new game modes
  • Strikepoint (arriving as part of Rogue Ops) - an intense, small team tactical mode where a squad fights another squad across multiple rounds to capture a key objective. There is only one life each round
  • Sabotage (arriving as part of California Resistance) - destroy as many sites as possible before the round time finishes, each team has one round each to go on offense and defense; the team who successfully detonates the most sites wins
  • Ice Lock (limited time event arriving as part of Winter Offensive) - centered around a mechanic called Freeze, which is a gameplay modifier that is only active in specific experiences
