BENGALURU: The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board announced on Tuesday that 73.45% of the 6.37 lakh students who appeared for the second PUC examination, held from March 1 to 20, passed.
Students can access their results on the website https://karresults.nic.in, which will also be announced in colleges on April 8 at 1:30 PM.
The Minister of School Education and Literacy, Madhu Bangarappa , stated that this is just the first in a series of examinations that students can attempt.
According to board rules, students who could not attend the examination due to insufficient attendance can reappear for the second and third papers as private candidates.
The second examination will be held from April 24 to May 8, while the third examination will take place from June 9 to 21.
A total of 8,000 students were awarded marks under the scheme of valuation, which, according to officials, does not constitute grace marks. They clarified that there are no general grace marks.
The pass percentage has decreased by 7.7%. However, the department emphasized that the integrity of the examination was maintained, and no grace marks were awarded.
The pass percentage was higher among girls, with 77.8% of the 3.4 lakh female candidates passing, compared to 68.2% of the 2.9 lakh male candidates.
Students in urban areas had a higher pass percentage, with 74.55% of the 5.03 lakh urban candidates passing. In contrast, 69.33% of the 1.34 lakh rural students passed.
KREIS schools recorded the highest pass percentage among all school categories.
