NEW DELHI: The Phase 1 of Bihar Assembly elections on Thursday witnessed another chaos involving deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, after a heated argument broke out between him and RJD MLC Ajay Kumar. This came after Sinha, earlier in the day, accused RJD of attacking his convoy with "slippers and cow dung" in his assembly constituency of Lakhisarai.
The two leaders were seen hurling abuses at each other as their convoys came face-to-face. As the RJD MLC accused Sinha of being a "criminal", alleging that he was trying to intimidate voters, Sinha hit back, calling Kumar a "failed leader" and "drunk." The latter dismissed the "drunk" charge, saying that it was "Mahua" (local liquor).
Later, Sinha blamed Kumar for the quarrel accusing his men of stopping their car and "resorting to hooliganism".
"His people stopped our car and resorted to hooliganism. He is distraught because he has lost the election. Vijay Sinha's chapter is closed. He was not attacked. He had been trying to stage this drama for several days," Sinha said.
Sinha alleged that his car was attacked by people, who chanted "Murdabad" and "threw stones".
"These are the goons of RJD. Satta mein aa rahi hai NDA isliye inke chhati pe bulldozer chalega. The goons are not letting me visit the village. Vijay Sinha is going to win...They turned away my polling agent and did not let him vote...Look at their hooliganism...This is 404 and 405 booth numbers of Khoriari village," he said.
Reacting to the alleged incident, CEC Gyanesh Kumar directed the DGP to take "immediate action". "No one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands. Strict action will be taken against the miscreants," PTI reported citing an official, quoting Kumar.
