NEW DELHI: Airlines have cancelled flights to multiple airports including Srinagar, Leh & Jammu as well as rerouted some following Indian armed forces’ historic action — Operation Sindoor — against Pakistan’s terror infrastructure. Air India said it has “ cancelled all its flights to and from the following stations – Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot – till 12 noon on 7 May, pending further updates from authorities. Two international flights en route to Amritsar are being diverted to Delhi in view of the prevailing situation.” Almost all airlines started avoiding Pakistan airspace for overflying following India’s targeted action.
IndiGo said: “Due to changing airspace conditions in the region, our flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh and Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Gwalior are impacted. We request you to check your flight status before reaching the airport”.
Air India Express said flights to and from Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar and Hindon are “impacted till mid day April 7.” Akasa said its Srinagar flights have been cancelled.
Airlines say flights are going to be affected on Wednesday. “This is an evolving situation and at this point we can’t say anything,” say officials.
