A mass shooting at a house party near Hickory, North Carolina, left one person dead and 11 others injured in the early hours of Sunday, police said.
Officers were called to the home at around 12.45 am, roughly 60 miles northwest of Charlotte. Upon arriving they found that 12 people had been shot, the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office said, quoted by the New York Post.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while another still remains in critical condition. The conditions of the other victims have not been disclosed.
No arrests have been made yet, and authorities have yet to release any information about potential suspects.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting local police and the sheriff’s office as the investigation continues.
