US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a scheduled phone call on Friday to discuss bilateral trade ties and the future of TikTok , Chinese state media reported.
"Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke by telephone with US President Donald Trump," state broadcaster CCTV and the Xinhua news agency confirmed, without providing further details.
The call comes days after Trump said the United States and China had reached a deal on TikTok, with negotiations centered on shifting the app’s ownership into US-controlled hands. Trump had earlier indicated he would speak directly with Xi to confirm the agreement.
